Agents, Editors, Publishers:
While I may be on the road to self-publishing this novel, I'd stop in a heartbeat if someone had a good home for it in their line.
Beyond the 64,000 words I've been posting in chunks, I have about 150,000 more in development to complete the first story arc. Beyond that, I have plans and outlines for a much longer series, if the first arc draws enough attention. The story has been brewing for nearly two decades, this is just the beginning. I have a middle and an end planned for it.
Please contact me if you'd like to see the synopsis for the whole first arc, or for the whole series. Lots of teenage Twilight fans are going to look for vampires with more bite to them as they grow up…
So, what is this BloodDreams thing, anyway?
BloodDreams is the story of vampires on the verge of extinction, and of twenty-year-old Jonny, a talented and troubled punk musician who loses everything but might be the one prophesied to save vampirekind.
On the brink of wild success, Jonny stands prepared to put a badly misspent youth behind him once and for all. As Jonny travels with his band the Lost Keys from London to New York for their first high-profile gig, he carries an engagement ring in his pocket, a determination to set things right, and a battalion of nightmares that won’t let him be.
However, much more lies in wait for him than protesters, reporters, and TV crews: Before the Lost Keys take the stage, Jonny falls into the clutches of Marion, a notorious vampire and addict who craves the effects of fear and pain in the blood. He fights for his life through her torments and his own nightmares knowing only that he’d rather die than screw up tonight. Not this night.
While Jonny struggles with his fate, the rest of the vampire world has its own plans and problems. The relentless efforts of the Salierant, an ancient order of vampire hunters, have driven vampire civilization to its knees. The long, difficult, and hazardous process of Turning a new vampire often fails. Refugee vampires flee cities consecrated by the Salierant and now crowd together in the few territories that remain safe for them.
Two cities manifest the hopes and fears of vampirekind. Boston stands as the strongest refuge left for vampires, while the domain of New York decays, oppressed by a rogue vampire and occupied by the nerve center of the Salierant’s operations. Making matters worse, the vampire leaders of these key territories suffer a deep enmity both personal and political, with relations between them strained more than ever now.
